Every single tournament held by the ATP/Womens Tour, from main event draws like Wimbledon, to smaller tournaments, to challengers and satellites all have an open draw. That means all players and media are eligible to watch the tournament draw the names that set up the draw.
Besides the #1 seed at the top of the the draw, and the #2 at the bottom, the rest of the draw is set up accordingly. A separate draw is held for the other seeds placement. Seeds 3/4 are set up in either section of the draw, 5-8 as well, and so on. Then all non-seeded players are given a blind draw in the rest of the tournament. Sometimes qualifiers even play each other first round, anything is possible. It is impossible to "fix" these open draws as you "claim" to know about. Obviously you dislike current US Open Champion Sharapova, but at least get your information straight before you mouth off.
Remember at the Open, she defeated 5 seeded players (the maximum you can face as a seeded player), and defeated the #1 and #2 seeds. Wow, what an easy draw. But apparently winning the US Open and Wimbledon is not good tennis because you have to be ugly to be a good tennis player.

Maria Sharapova is a great tennis player. She became famous for her tennis abilities and just also happens to be pretty. Obviously, she will attract more sponsors with her good looks than another equally skilled but less attractive player. About the tournament organizers fixing easy draws for her, that is pretty much true for all the top womens players. There are rarely any big upsets in women's tennis because the top ten players are miles ahead of everyone else. Besides Hingis's comeback, when is the last time an unseeded player went anywhere in a WTA event? True, people do admire Sharapova's beauty, but true tennis fans admire her skill far more.

Just because she is attractive doesn't mean that she is an embarrassment to the sport. Just because she gets an easy draw for one tournament doesn't mean that it rigged. I am sure that the chair umpires are completely fair when judging her match and even if they weren't, it wouldn't matter because her opponent could challenge. I might agree with your opinion if Sharapova had little talent, but she just won the U.S. Open. There is no way that it could have been fixed. There have been other players like Anna Kournikova, who received a lot of publicity for her good looks, but didn't have many actual achievements, but Sharapova gets attention not only for her beauty but for her great skill and achievements as one of the best women's tennis player.

No way, the people of wimboldon are respected and they only seed based on world rankings so there is no way to give her an unfair advantage because every plaer whether you see it or not has a world ranking and they are placed according to that ranking. Maria has a very high ranking (changes time to time) so she normally gets to play easier people. Take the March Madness for example, the #1 seeds get and easy road to the sweet sixteen all they have to play is a #16 and a #8 or #9 so thats how Maria gets her good draws.

The organizers also fix easy draws for Roddick and did the same for the Williams sisters. I don't like special treatment for anyone. It was wrong when they did it with the Williams sisters and its wrong now. I can't stand either one. I found Venus and Serena to be just as abnoxious as Maria. Although I find Maria's grunting to be extremely annoying.

I don't think that the umpires now go for beauty. I mean, there is Shot Spot, so everyone in the stadium can see the call on the big screen. As for the easy matches untill the semis...she's a good player. She won the US Open! She beat Mauresmo and Henin-Hardenne.
I can see your point of view on this case, but she is a good player and we don't give her enough credit.

I thinks she brings more popularity to the sport than she does embarassment. Would women's tennis be where it is today without Sharapova?

This sounds a bit like a conspiracy theory. Do you really have any evidence to back these claims? There are other attractive tennis palyers beside Maria.

Are you saying that because she's pretty she shouldn't play? I bet that if she was ugly you'd never say that about her...She's a great player who happens to be very pretty....Can't she be both? Or in order to be a good player and get ahead you have to be ugly or just be pretty and suck? Give her a break, she's talented as well..
