My Toshiba Portege won't turn on.

I keep pressing the power switch but nothing happens.

The batteries are fully charged and the power cable is inserted.

I don't know what's going on.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

A trick I learned for a Gateway laptop that had the same problem might work. Remove the battery, plug in the adapter and try to turn it on. It will not turn on, or shouldn't anyway. Then replace the battery and try again and it should turn on.
This proceedure somehow 'resets' the laptop.
