you can either download from www.msn.co.uk or www.msn.com and then click on messenger. or you can go on www.ebuddy.com it has different messengers and its free and there is no need to download.

no u dont need to download it because if u r using windows xp
then it has a msn messenger software.
u can use that one

better to download the new one, because you can send IMs to Yahoo users ,
but there is a windows messenger built in with the OS usually

Yes, you have to download msn messenger first. As the puter has to have that particular program installed. The last time I tried to get into msn chat...they tried to charge me....'The Dirty Rats"....charge me to chat?.....lol........have a good day..... ;)

Use the windows messenger. It comes with MS Windows XP.
