We all know what kinds of things we can be very innocent about. But do you leave an impression on others that make them feel you are more naive than you are?

I'm naive enough to still find enjoyment in all the little things.

I don't really know what people think of me... in the naive sense, at least.

I suppose the majority of people that truly know me consider me to wear rose-coloured glasses.

I still think i can change the world... And they think i'm living in some delusionary state.

But someday... i will create a social movement that affects the world as a whole.
And i will call all those that doubted me up and be like "HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES".

I guess if I knew how naive I was, I probably wouldn't be. But then if I wasn't, I guess I just might be too naive to think that I wasn't. However, just knowing how I am naive would make me less vulnerable so that wouldn't really make me naive. But that could make me more vulnerable to naivety.

As for what others think of me- I would guess that they think I am in some ways, but not so much in others. But I would never know because they never mention anything about that. Which could go either way. Because if I left an impression that I wasn't, I couldn't see anyone saying "Gee, Antny, you're just not very naive or innocent today. That sucks. I'll just try and take advantage of someone else now." And, on the other hand, I don't usually hear at the end of any given day "Gee, Antny, thanks for being so naive and innocent today- it was a pleasure taking advantage of you!" So, I guess since I don't really hear anything, I don't really know anything. Which would make me more ignorant than innocent.

Ignorance is bliss!! :)

I'm sure I am more naive than I think I am or would like to be. I tend to trust a bit too much before the cynic in me kicks in.
Physically I don't look naive at all. So I'm not sure what impression people have of me.

Oh good grief....again with MonNog and I being separated at birth. If I am in coasting mode, I can be naive as a little lamb lost in the wood...but if I'm in my serious mindset, my naivety can drop from me, and I can even scare people with how "switched-on" I am. It's probably the result of being constantly trapped between idealism (seeing the potential for hope and progress of human beings) and realism (seeing all the horror they're capable of). But certainly most people tend to think I'm quite naive until or unless I have a reason to show them otherwise. Then they stand there blinking, going "Who told YOU all this?!", like my general optimism for the world has somehow blinded me to reality. Strange folk...:o)

One thing ive noticed is the difference between naive'ette and gullability!..The naive person, generally knows nothing about a given subject but will still express strong opinions on it, despite knowing almost nothing about it!..If you listen to talk radio, especially the far right wing 'shock jock' hate radio formatters, you hear this all the time, mostly on politics or religion!..We've got 'em here in Australia , and struth do you EVER have 'em in America!!..The extremists cannot survive without the naive people they pander too!..Which leads to the second part of naive'ette, the gullible!.Do you want to convince people out there in 'gullible land' that the universe is 6,000 years old?..That were being invaded fron the planet Pars?.{easy to find, its right next to Mars}..There are millions out there who are naive and gullible enough to believe you!..If you sell it right!..But you know, in the end it all comes down to this!..Given the right circumstances ...We can all be conned!..So perhaps were all naive and gullible!..Think about it!

I can be savy and naive all at the same time. Some appreciate that quality in me and others would try to take advantage.
While I may be naive in certain things it doesn't mean I can't see what is happening.

I can turn my naiveté on & off depending on whether or not it's important to allow people to think I'm innocent about something. So yeah, I can leave an impression that I am naive...but actually, as I sit here typing this answer I can't honestly think of anything that I'm particularly naive about...which may actually prove my point...or leave an impression on you :-)

Certainly. I reason before I come to a conclusion many take as their gospel truth. In my experience, which I know enough not to claim as being always the case for others, many persons who call others naive, aren't very smart. They could be right about what they believe, but that doesn't make them smart. If theor ideas were smart, I'm inclined to think their reasoning behind them should also be good, but that's not always the case.

I won't challenge the arrogance of what I've said, but will say I believe it to be legitimate in my own experience.
