Badfinger's Pete Ham wrote "Without You", and Badfinger were the first to record it. Harry Nilsson had a big hit with his version in the 70's - in my mind it's the definitive version, but as others have mentioned, it's been recorded by many other artists.

The ORIGINAL was done by Badfinger in '70, as an obscure track on the album No Dice. Harry Nilsson (known as only Nilsson back then) released it in '72, and took it to No. 1...the title was "Without You".
(Air Supply didn't release it til '91.)
