HELP!!!! we're going on this school trip in 2 weeks, it's summer, and it'll be hotter where we're going, I'm afraid my classmates and teachers will ask me about my long sleves(I wear them to cover my cuts and scars).... is there any other way I could hide them? I have them up to my elbow, so bracelets won't do much...
PS: and if in fact they DO ask me about my long sleves (that's for sure) what are some excuses to tell them??

1) most hand creams contain manuka honey and that really helps to reduce scars but don't put it on straight after you've done the cut because that hurts and doesnt do anything ... she speaks from experience lol
2) your best bet is to stop ... easier sed than done i know but you gotta try
3) iv got some convers laces that i rap round my arms they go quite far up so try that n if you get sum funky ones it looks awesome n u can tie them round your neck so it looks like you're wearing them for fasion
4) sweat bands .
5) you can get sum really cool glove things that are mint n will cover you're arms
If they ask you about your long sleeves make something really strange up and they'll call you a nutter and move on or try those other methods and they should shut there faces ... just make sure when they ask you you answer with a massive smile and really confidently cz if u show how much ur scared der gna find out then they will find out so jst be confident
xXx CHARLIE xXx best of luck xXx

This could be a problem yes!
What you need to do is ask yourself whether you are ready to tell people that your are a self harmer!
If yes then show your scars----most people will feel too uncomfortable to ask about them, but when they do you need to be honest.
Remember just because you are showing them does not mean you are attention seeking.
If you are not ready to show your scars then you do need to wear long sleeves-- either why you are going to have a few questions asked. The thing you can do is prepare your answers now.
Things i have used in the past include:
- i am not comfortable showing my arms
- if it is very hot whether you want to protect your arms from the sun
- or just say i actually have self harmed and i do not want to particulary show the world.
Either way i am concerned to why you actually do this, the main point i think is for you to actually get some help with it. As when someone damages theirselves on the outside it normally means that they are damaged on the inside.
Good luck let me know how it goes
and please take care of yourself

You don't lie about it. Your a cutter obviously. If they see, tell them you did it. It also will help you by admitting it your peers. Try wearing some rubber bands around your wrists and every time you feel like cutting start to snap that band on the inside of the wrist and it will cause the same affect for you.

whatever the reasons are that you have them, dont bother covering them up with anything. its who you are now and you and everyone around you, is just going to have to deal with it. theyre there and you cant remove them. theyre a part of you and now you have to accept that whether you put them there or not. wear the clothes you WANT to wear and if someone starts hassleing you just say "none of your buissness piss off" and if they continue explain throughly that they have nothing to do with it and walk away. whatever GAVE you the scars, and your embnarassed about them, well then i guess you shouldnt do it anymore. over and out. good luck on watever you decide

I don't think it would be a good idea for us to give you information about hiding something for which you need help.
You need to discuss with your parents or a counselor as to why you have so many cuts and scars that you think need to be hidden.
Please go to someone you can trust to talk to someone if you are cutting yourself. This is not a behavior which is healthy it is a cry for help.

well, i'm guessing you want the attention otherwise you would have chosen a better place to cut. Most of the girls i know who have cuts on their arms or easily seen areas do want attention in some way or another. maybe you don't. say you fell in a bush. you feel down a hill, you know when you run down a hill and you can't stop and you end up tripping over yourself. whatever you say, people will know the truth and deep down somewhere inside you you had to of known that. the arms for crying out loud! you can deny it if you want. i wonder how many thumbs down i'll get .......

Why is so important for you that they will find out? It should be more important for you to find the reason why you cut yourself. Use the trip money to find a therapist.
