Surprisingly you are partly correct. On the floor of the sea. Tsunami's happen in part because the flat area move and become uneven. faults-ledges-floors. Mother nature made the earth so there is no answer.

because of the gravitational pull that the earth has on the sun- you see all those black holes that help time to travel on different planes at different times- makes it so that the sun has to travel very quickly around our planet- therefore pulling it flat..... put that in an essay! ;)
