I am French, live in France and in comparison with the USA, how much do you reckon you need each month to live comfortably ? without excess !

comfortably with out excess, car payment and rent, eating out but not every night and living in a nice area city, resort town etc...about 2,000 to 3,000 a month after taxes, that is alone (no wife or kids)

anyway...I'm not rich and for me to live comfortably, without excess it would take approximately $1500. If I was in the cheapest apartment I could find, it could be as low as $1000 a month. That turns out to be 7-10 dollars an hour for wages.
