It works like this. . . .

1. Provided that you have no reason to believe that the person viewing you is under 18, then knock yourself out.

2. If you met this person in an adult chat room, you do not have to ask if they are 18. Yahoo guidlines prohibits anyone under 18 from entering the chatroom. Therefore you may assume that they are of legal age. If you met them in an a non-adult room then ask (just to cover your butt)

3. If you were asking about saving or recording their webcam sessions, try http://www.oatmealmedia.net

4. If at anytime you learn or believe that they are under 18 years old, stop what you are doing, and report them to yahoo. That will create a digital paper trail and cover your @$$.

Hope this helps

If you knowingly do it in forum that will be watched by the public, meaning people other than the individual you intended it for, then yes, it is illegal. To post a video of this on the internet you cannot expect privacy. My advice would be don't do it, too shaky. If the person wants you to do it verify that they are who they say they are and tell them to meet you somewhere that you can make sure is private.

I dont know that it is illegal, but know that anyone could be watching you through your webcam even if you dont think you have it turned on. When you have a webcam hooked up to your computer people can get in and watch you remotely even if you dont want them to.

Probably depends on local or state obscenity laws (which are ridiculous, but hey). I think 2257 applies only to for-profit publications and websites, but I'm not sure.

If you need 100% accuracy, you're gonna have to look it up. :)

All depends on local laws

Web Cam is legal IF you know the laws, and how to comply to them. I have had a cam studio for over 10 years, and I have an adult industry lawyer that keeps me up to date on all the laws, and I understand how to comply with the laws. There is a lot more to working on cam than being over 18 and logging on to work. Sure, if you are working for a "legal" studio, that is all you need to do. But if you are working on your own, there is more too it. Working under a legal studio, you will be trained on the laws, and the studio will comply to all the laws for you. Warning, not all cam studio's are legal studio's. Meaning there are a lot of cam studios out there that have no clue on how to comply with the laws.
