I had some serious eye surgery (not laser, it was to relocate my eye muscles) a few years ago. It was explained to me that the anesthetics they needed to use to paralyze my eyes, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being healthy and alive, 1 being dead and unrevivable), they needed to take me down to a 0.5. As a side note, you do not dream when under anesthesia, because of how the chemical reacts with your brain, and you certainly don't have REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep when you've been paralyzed enough to still your eyes.

Anyways. I was looking at a door not very much unlike the doorway out of an adobe hut. Beyond the door, it was night, and a beautiful full moon washed over a small path through a lovely garden. The garden was full of very tall flowers that looked almost like lillys, but not quite, and they waved back and forth as if they were underwater. There were small moths and fireflies flittering about, and everything was silver. The sky was full of stars, and the air clung heavy with the scent of jasmine and rain. It was incredibly beautiful.
After a moment, I saw a lovely woman, kind of floating, with long hair flowing about her, and a wispy sheer length of cloth not quite covering her. She was amazing, and she smiled at me, and looked at me with wonderful eyes, and for a moment I knew that she was my mother, my lover, myself, every woman and every man, and every living thing. I started walking towards her when - I'm not sure how I heard it, it was unlike any sound and I can't describe it - a man said "*my name*, come here."
I turned around, and only saw the outline of a man, with bright sunlight behind him so bright I could barely see him. He, too, was my father, my lover, me, and everything that lives. I spent a moment in indescision about which way to walk, and eventually decided to walk over to him. He embraced me and whispered "It's not time. Now wake up and live."

I woke up blind and in a great deal of pain, with a breathing tube shoved down my throat. I remember hearing a LOT of activity "why's she awake!" "Her breathing is stablized!" "Pulse getting stronger!" and one nurse addressing me directly and saying "You're okay, you'll be okay, calm down, I'm going to give you some morphine for the pain." - Apparently at some point in the surgery my vitals started dropping dangerously low.

Hm, so that was my story. It was a very moving and life altering experience, and sometimes I reflect and wonder what would have happened if I had favored the Goddess and walked towards her..

My general idea, is that what we expect the most is what will happen to us after we die, and thus all the stories shared here are valid to the person experiencing them.

I did, I fell on a post and it went through my back. I passed out and came to a couple times but then I was gone. It wasnt really the whole bright light coming at me thing, I was just there among angels. Thats all i remember before the doctors revived me.

Question is somewhat difficult to understand. If your mind isn't lifeless, you're alive, and mind remains to be "lively." There are not any different "planes of truth". If your mind is lively, you're alive, and for that reason drowning and so forth. would deliver you to a close loss of life revel in, and whole unconsciousness, however mind isn't lifeless. People revel in the beginnings of the approach close down, portraits, lighting, panic or serenity and reputation of loss of life, emotions of floating and so forth., but when they reside to inform you approximately it, good that is now not loss of life. Your mind IS nonetheless lively. Once its lifeless, its lifeless. Your center can give up, however mind loss of life will take a couple of extra mins, whilst humans may also be revived, and typically are. That's why they are able to recollect specified feelings or reviews. Their mind was once nonetheless alive and lively.

My little brother reported one after a drowning incident. He talked about seeing a tunnel and some really bright colors, and then somebody in white (who he perceived to be his father, although he wasn't anywhere around us at the time) supposedly pulled him out of said tunnel. He was only about two and a half when this happened, though, and he doesn't remember it anymore.

i dunno but this is really weird i dont it was a near death experience though.

I was bouncing on my trampoline about 2 years ago, when i think i just collapsed on the trampoline. I fell asleep for about 20 minutes. i saw a path that started at the edge of my trampoline and dissapeared into the clouds, then i saw a man with these old fashioned robes i think it was jesus. he held his hand out and i grabbed on and we walked up the path. we stopped at an oldfashioned door and i pushed it open. i saw a rainbow and angels of people. there were people flying around in wheelchairs and stuff. i walked along a path and saw gods castle. i walked further along where there was rows of little cottages. i walked in one and saw my nan & pop all i can remember seeing in the house was a round table with rosesc on it, white carpet, a green rocking chair, windows and windowcills and stuff like that. it was near my brothers birthday and they showed me a shoebox with a pair of gloves shoes in it. they said my brother would get a pair of gloves shoes for his birthday. then they gave me chocolate cake to eat thts all i really remember of heaven. i then woke up with chocolate cake around my mouth and my brother got a pair of gloves shoes for his birthday.
