I asked a question about Cohebas, (hopefully I spelled that correctly) and Monte Cristo's, to which some overseas friends sent me as gifts. I'm not a smoker, but I thought I might be "cultured" into enjoying it?

I don't look down upon it, to each their own! I've smoked a cigar once or twice, and I love the smell. It's probably an acquired taste for most people.

I don't really like cigars.
I enjoy cigarettes.

In my opinion, smoking brings down your esteem much more so than cigars.

You only have cigars once in a while but cigarettes are a more constant thing.

I don't know.

You could start to enjoy them since they do kind of help to relax yourself and just breathe. It's especially good if you're sitting somewhere like on a balcony at night or in the rain and you have your favorite drink beside you. And perhaps a notebook for writing...

It's a relaxing thing...

And you should do it because you want to. Not to appear like a cultured cigar smoker.

I agree with rez 1.
Smoking is pretty much seen as disgusting over here in OZ. And women smoking a cigar could have sexual connotations. Like sucking on a smoking phallic symbol. Or being manly therefore you may be seen as butch.

If the woman did it here n there, mainly at home as a blue moon thing, no problem.

But being 37, swm, and if I passed a good looking woman in a pub and she was puffing away on a cigar....I'd keep walking.
