I think it's a pity that they had to come into the 21st century to please the rest of us because that meant that they lost their mystique. After all, haven't we all at some time or another wanted to be a prince or princess for a day??

It's not their fault that they are as human as the rest of us and therefore apt to make the same mistakes. Would you want to make mistakes with the paparazzi constantly at your back?

In their own way they all work for the benefit of others but duty decrees that they do not publicly disclose it.

I once read a book by Ranulph Fiennes about his transcontinental expedition in which he recounts how many of the countries and much of the exoedition was only possible because Prince Charles helped them out both with finance and personal intervention in the countries where they were not going to be allowed to enter. Perhaps not much in terms of global strife these days but nevertheless it showed a thought and caring for the efforts of his fellow man.

Those who knock them should perhaps ask themselves if we really want an alternative, are we ready for the alternative? A 'Bush' Administration perhaps?? God forbid!

The Queen is an example to us all as is Prince Phillip, especially his prowess with the fillies at that age.
Jug ears is a let down, why did he let Diana go, plenty of folk will, tell you she were great in bed.
Anne is a great example as is Randy Andy though he really ought to marry fergie again.
Ted the Gay twatt, well no comment.
And Will and Harry, well just hope the Muslims do us all a favour and take Jug Ears out so we still have a monarchy for Wills to take over.

As people, I personally have never met them so I don't have an opinion other than they were born with alot less hardship and struggle to make ends meet than 99 percent of the population of the world. That of course does not make them better people than I or worse for that matter.I am not against the royal family but I also do not believe any one is born into this world inherently better than his fellow man or woman therefore I do not believe in birth right because to believe that someone is entitled to a greater status than others just because they were born into a more successful family promotes elitist values which spurns a never ending cycle of racism and hatred in society. I believe a man or woman is responsible for their own successes and failures, and their status in life should be a direct result of personal character, not nepotism.

I respect them as humans and people who like them but that is it. I would not bow to them. They may have more fame and money than any family on the planet, but what do they actually do, besides being a symbol. They are humans like every one else. They have their ailments and problems, like all other families. There is so much poverty in the world and there they are in big palaces and going all over the world.. Money is no object for them.

Okay, but which Royal family are you talking about? Spain? Holland? Sweden? Thailand? --- there are MANY royal families in the world. All have a great line of history, people come from all over the world to see them, and their royal residences, and they all provide a boost to their economies.

I think the royal family is nice, although I have not met them. I think though that some members are little too extreme. I believe that the royal family does not get the respect that the used to. And are pretty much there.

There family and family line dates back and they symbol almost all of what is England.

i think the royal family is a stupid thing i mean what gives them the right to be a royal family apart from the fact they been interbreeding for centuries and there ancestors had a lot of slaves called an army that beat up lots of other people to become rulers and yet there ancestors aren't even English there they there German so no i don't think we should have a royal family but share there wealth out for our NHS and other as we need it more then them especially when they drive around in 100's of thousands of pounds worth in cars and jewellery when we have people starving and homeless in this country including our elderly.

Ive been brought up with a family that all have worked for the monarchy for the last 300 years, i have been brought up to believe that if some assassin points a gun any member of the royal family *yes that includes Prince Philip* lol, then i would take the bullet, OK some of you may think that a stupid way to live, but with out them i, and the rest of my family have no purpose in life.

I agree - the Royal family is a symbol of our national pride and they are fantastic for our moral and economy. My favourite monarch would be Elizabeth 1st - a fantastic queen who had her people at heart and achieved so much for our nation. Now, in these modern times, they are the envy of all other nations and we should be proud to have them. I bet I get loads of thumbs down, but I don't care. We are lucky to have them, long live our queen!
