I just can't watch films like the Saw series. I have the presumption that the villain will never get justice, and I don't like gore, especially gore where it seems justice will slip away, again and again. But I've never been a horror or gore movie fan. Is this a healthy outlook, or a bad one?

I don't see the entertainment in watching someone I don't even know be tortured and killed, even if it is fake. I'd be ashamed to have watched that.

I think it's healthy to not like that kind of movie.
I like psychological thrillers, or horror movies where the chased can turn around and abuse the villain. But not ones where you know the villain will basically prevail--it's almost like he is being made the hero--and hence a role model.
It's sick.

In my opinion (not a psychologist or anything). But, I don't see it as a bad outlook. It just all depends on what you can handle. Hell, I have a hard time looking at poop. I puked when I watched the part in Jackass when that guy took a crap. I can handle blood though because I know that on the movie screen, it's fake...I hope...Plus, they're actors so the torturing is all fake. Hell, they sit there and laugh about everything in interviews. Anyways, if you're really that worried about it, call a doctor or something. They'd be able to tell ya more than the people on yahoo. I happen to love the Saw series. I have a countdown til the 3rd one. lol. But I'm also a person who can handle blood and gore very well. You on the other hand, so what if blood and gore isn't your thing. That doesn't make you an unhealthy person. Hell if anything I'm probably the one with the psychological disorder. haha. I love watching horror movies. My motto is "the more blood and guts, the better. And when they're a deranged killer like jigsaw in the movie it's the best movie ever." haha. Anyways, I'm shutting up now because I really don't know where I'm going with this.

Saw is a film that captivates a person. I've seen the first two and I most likely see the third. I didn't like the gore factor in the movie, even though that was the point. It's strange to think that this movie is normal in anyway. I don't know why I even watch it. the movies that they are making now are getting to be pretty screwed up mentally. I would like to think that freaks aren't wondering the streets like the ones in the movies, but they are.
I think the movies like these open the door to greater disturbances in generations to come. Its almost like offering an approval on being so screwed up.
I still can't figure out why the hell I watch that movie.

The movies are made like that because the villian(Jigsaw) teaches people they should take more in life. In one of the movies I believe and even in da Saw 3 thing I saw on myspace it says some people just dont deserve to live. They just take life for granted. I am not one of those people. I love living each and every day. To watch it on myspace here is the link:

I guess some people just see it as good entertainment. Just like what is the point of you watching (for example) a love story about 2 people that aren't real?

I completely agree with you. It is up to me what images or words I let come into my mind. Sometimes, I regret the things I have looked at or read because they DO leave an indelible stamp upon the psyche.
That is one reason never to click on links here unless it is an asker you know does not post disturbing images.
