3/x + 3/(2x) =2
Note that by factorisation, 1/x is common to both terms on the left side. Then the above becomes,
(1/x).[3+ (3/2)] =2
=> x = [3+ (3/2)]/2 = (9/2)/2 = 9/4
or if it's, 3/x + (3/2)x = 2
then multiply throughout by 2x ,(the coefficient for the sake of simplicity) and you get,
3x^2 - 4x + 3 = 0
Now note that the discrimiant of the resulting quadratic is
(-4)^2 - 4(3)(3) = 16 - 36 = -20 < 0
so the roots will be complex.
The roots are [2 + V5i]/3 and [2 - V5i]/3
I assume you did what someone had done above but note that
(a/b) + (c/d) does NOT equal (a+b)/(c+d)
rather,
(a/b) + (c/d) = (ad + bc) / bd
hope this helps!

Now,
3/x + 3/2x = 2
LHS = 3/x + 3/2x
= 3 (1/x + 1/2x)
= 3(2/2x + 1/2x)
= 3(3/2x)
= 9/2x
Now, 9/2x = 2
therefore,
4x = 9
x = 9/4

mutiply by x the lhs (left hand side) of th equation
3+3/2 = 2x
2x = 9/2
x = 9/4
(why x cannot be 1?
sustitute x = 1 in the lhs ( left hand side ) of the equation
3/1 + 3/2 (1) = 6/2 + 3/2 = 9/2
but the rhs(right hand side) of the equation is 2 ..so your answer is wrong
always do this kind of substiution of the numerical answer you get back into the equation to know whether you are correct or not..you can find for yourself )

I assume you mean 3/x + 3/(2x) = 2.
Multiply through by x:
3 + 3/2 = 2x.
Then x = 3/2 + 3/4 = 9/4.

firstly take the LCM ie the eq becomes
(6+3)/2x=2
shifting denominator
9=4x
dividing by 4
x=9/4
sorry to break your bubble but how on earth do you get 1?
you must be making some sort of a mistake dude cuz i know a lot of maths and this sixth grade calculation can't be wrong

3/x + 3/2x = 2
2x(3/x) + 2x(3/2x) = 2x(2)
6 + 3 = 4x
9 = 4x
9/4 = 4x/4
9/4 = x
2.25 = x
The answer is x = 2.25
Insert the x value into the equation
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Check
3/x + 3/2x = 2
3/2.25 + 3/2(2.25) = 2

1.333333333+ 0.666666667 = 2
2 = 2

3/x + 3/2x=2
2x(3/x +3/2x =2
6x/x +6x/2x=4x
6 + 3 =4x
9=4x
-4x=-9
divide -4 both sides
x=2.25
checking:
3/x + 3/2x =2
3/2.25 + 3/2(2.5) =2
lcd of 4.50=2
then 9/4.50=2
2=2
