Every time there's a question on here asking which celeb is most annoying etc, a lot of Americans say "Rosie O'Donnell". Who is she and what's so irritating about her?

That Rosie O'Donnell is awful is an irreducible truth. To try to separate 'Rosie O'Donnell' and 'awful' would be an abstraction only fit for philosophers.

There is nothing "Awful" about her.
She was often called "The Queen of Niceness" in the past, but alot of people lost interest in her when she announced her sexual preferences were not the politically correct version.
I think Ms. O'Donnell may also carry a slight chip on her shoulder due to the very harsh treatment she received once she came clean about her sexuality.
Personally, I think she's funny, smart, and loyal to her beliefs, and no--I am not gay, but I do respect a Person whom is devoted to their family and life's work, as O'Donnell does.

She is too loud & very rude in that she asks questions on her show & then talks all over the answers. She appears to only be interested in Rosie O'Donnell.

Her statements mainly..
Americans are very harsh and critical of gays and obese people..sadly.
Also, recently, Rosie said the "radical Christianity is as bad as radical Islam".
I guess that offended many Americans (since most Americans are Christian). But it makes sense...any RADICAL religion ends up killing people of a different faith...

Other than being rich and loud, the most annoying thing about her is that I can't figure out whether she is a dupe or an operative of the Comintern. But then, I don't watch much TV, so I save myself from witnessing a tremendous amount of mass-media stupidity.

She is a stand up comic & actress (& lesbian)
She's coarse & not my cup of tea. But she has adopted 4 children (fair play) and probably thinks I'm annoying.

I personally don't find her annoying! In fact I wish there were more like her on television. I think people are just "annoyed" by her because she is a successful gay overweight woman who doesn't seem to be bothered by either of those characteristics.

She is just someone that gets off on being herself and that may irritate/intimidate some people who the heck cares anyway. She is just a celebrity. I have my own life....some others' may not.
