Do they still make your heart flip? Does the sight of a poor helpless female make you come over all decent and protective?
Do you despair of the modern day attitude that sees men kicked into touch?

Asbo honey...Sadly I couldn't agree more, and it vexes me greatly to see a real gentlemans chivalry abused. I guess the lasses have only got themselves to blame

if a woman is in need of help no matter who she is i help her. but if a guy needs help I'd help him also. Good manners don't cost anything.

Would have made my heart flip, say, 25 years ago, but (allegedly) we've moved on since.
Thanks to Germaine Greer and her ilk, women now are seen not to require the assistance of 'gentlemen' in the first years of the new millennium...but hey - if they want to wind up their ex-boyfriends (or even divorced hubbies), they can turn on the 'distress' button in pubs, clubs...or even on the street to see what exes would do - if they sit back, they're soft - but if the exes run across to road the kick rear, they're violent scum - catch 22, with the damsel enjoying every minute.
The 'attitude' of today does not only get men 'kicked into touch', as you put it - but others confused when they are sneered at by the women in question for being 'protective', or even gentlemanly in whatever degree...and that's before the current joys of accusing naive man of 'stalking' and 'pestering' if they think they're being merely helpful (rather than 'knight in shining armour').
You can't have it both ways, ma'am...and if this vexes you - or has you put in an addition to your question, with a sneer at asbo, then I apologise.

Yes..I admit, I was raised a gentleman, and I have hung out at the Renaissance Faire a bit much, and so I've adopted that attitude. Chivalry is not dead, not so long as there are romantics out there who won't let it die.
Than again, I'm rather large, and intimidating, but my wife has often called me her teddy bear...and so now I must away, to her side, and once more into the arms of morpheous, and sleep.
So I bid you all, a good night.

Was born and brought up (properly by my parents) in an age when chivalry still existed and I still practice that which I was taught, notwithstanding it is no longer popular, so therefore yes to both questions

Damsels in distress.. Hmmm takes me and the boys hours to lock them up in tall towers or chain them to railway tracks. This is what lights my fire! Please show some consideration and don't encourage gents to save 'em.
Thanks to my great plan to destroy code of chivalry forever and fear of litigation less and less rescuing being done these days.
;-)

From deep of men's hearts, they woule like to pretend to be a hero! He would like to protect a women that like a little bird!
Therefore, as a woman, you must learn how to performance like a easy-hurt woman!
In China, men would like virgin, for to men, virgin look more like than a sheep!
