A TASSIE is a Scottish dialect word for a drinking cup. The dictionary suggests a small cup, but there is an old poem something like:

Gae fetch tae me a pint o' wine
And put it in a silver tassie

so it could also be quite a big cup or goblet.

What Tassy could mean:

1. It could be in reference to Tassy Devils -Tasmanian Devil
(Sarcopilus Harrisi)

2. It is used as a nickname or even a real male name for a person.
