When do kids go back to school in USA term 1 2007 (August/september)?

we are hoping to come over to usa from australia for a holiday but do not want to be doing Disney world when school holidays are on. Can anyone tell me generally when do kids go back to school in August/September 2007

Depends on the school, some go back as early as the first week in August, some in Sept, and some are year round. If it is Florida and the Disney World area you are interested in, look specifically at those schools. Try this link:

Chances are if you go in late August the weather will be better and even though some schools might still be out, parents will be too busy getting ready for the start of classes to go on vacation anywhere. There are usually orientations & events & aptitude testing the 2-weeks before classes start back. Also, if you go during the week in the day time, it is generally good for low crowds.
