yes, Al, like Archie Bunker before him, acted like a bad husband and father, but deep down had a heart of gold and loved both his children and his wife. He was a great family man.

I think he ~ or some of his traits should I say were like those of many typical American dads - actually.. not a perfect man but he loved his family, laughed to get through the "tough times", like sports, worked hard and did the best he could.

Al is all right. Much like Homer Simpson. Not much of a provider of support of any kind (material or emotional), but he was there when his family really needed him. I won't go as far to say he is a good character, but he's not a bad one either.

When I was stationed in California, I saw a few tapings of "Married... with Children" in Culver City... had a great time... all the actors were cool and friendly.

Al Bundy's my hero... though I wouldnt dare behave like him in real life! hehehehe

He was a good provider and allowed his wife and kids their freedom, and basically kept to himself except when his neighbors showed up.
