If he can't be honest about you to others he is not worth bothering... but how old are you both....unless he grows up a little and faces responsibility. Perhaps he'll mature later.

yeah, he's being a boy. I know everyone will tell you to talk about it, but really, if you would just start talking about another guy, he'll probably come to you. Hang in there, they never really stop these kinds of games. Figure a way to deal now, and you're set for life.

It sounds like he gave you a compliment out of pity. He's more concerned about his image than your feelings, but has something of a conscience, so you can either have him choose to respect you and at least be friends, or putting what others may think first. Yes, I would talk to him, or tell him to never bother me again, if I were you.

Well of course you can talk to him about it.But I cant help but think this is not the right boy for you ,If he really liked you he would not put you down to his friends but tell them you are his friend at least but more importantly tell them he likes you so if they are good friends they wont try to chat you up .

don't bother with him if he's going to be immature and act like that them he's not worth your time. Know what you are worth and don't settle for less than the best. if he can't be honest then he's not worth it. don't be with someone that will want to deny you or keep it a secret. That is stupid and immature. don't talk to him just let it be.
