You can buy/borrow one of those SAT study guides. They are very helpful because they tell you EXACTLY what you need to know. They have example english/math problems that look VERY similar to the questions in the exam, so you'll know what to expect and what exactly to prep for. You only have about 9 days so skip reading all the mumble jumble and get right down to reading the tips and tricks. They usually have example problems, work on those, using the strategies they taught you. The night before the exam, make sure you get a good nights sleep. Good luck.

if you were asked one SAT question a day, until you had taken the equivalent of an entire SAT test, you would probably get them all right. most of them, anyway. the hard part is endurance. it's not easy to sit for four hours and do question after question.
my advice is to take practice tests. sit down one morning and try to simulate the experience, then score yourself and see how you do. there's no guaranteed way to get a 2400 (as somebody else said, a little of it is luck), but you'll probably do better.
good luck

Study really hard and get really lucky.
Anyone that has scored over 2200 on the SAT knows the rest of the points are pure luck.

Do reasonng puzzles in your newspaper. Sudoku is an excellent reasoning puzzle which you have to fill in the numbers 1 to 9 in rows. And more important, don't guess when it comes to reasoning, you have to work hard to find the correct answer, but the correct answer is always there in the puzzle. Use logic to solve.
