Well WMA to MP3 is a pretty tough nut to crack, but there are a few 'underground' options you might consider, however they are often anything but user-friendly. Try searching on a spider net, etc. Even normal searches might help to some extent.

With mp3 to WMA you might want to stick with an oldie, sure it's admittedly Microsoft made, but as hard to believe as it is this is one piece of software they haven't messed up...much.
Try,
www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx

also a simple search 'mp3 to wma encoders' will give you a comprehensive list of freeware and shareware. Read up on the features and try some out.

Blaze Media Pro is really something you want to have for all your encoding needs, a shareware copy is available, just search for it.

You could try dbpoweramp.

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

then get the WMA codec for it here:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-wma.htm

I think it is under a 30 day trial though, as you usually have to pay for any mp3 encoding codec.

If you have nero 6 on there with Start Smart, open Start Smart, select Audio and then select "Encode Audio Files".
