I can't tell the difference! I wear girls size 16 in abercrombie kids & womens size 2 in A&F and they seem very similar to me.

I saw the abercrombie kids girls size chart and it says size 16 is for 15-16yr olds. Maybe that is why they look like the adult Abercrombie.

I work at abercrombie kids in my mall, and I get this a lot. The clothes are somewhat similar (but aber kids' sizes are just a bit smaller). They aren't as "long," but a lot of the stuff like the tops and the hoodies from aber kids could be worn by teens/young adults. For the boys-mens, an extra large would be a small.

Also, I find aber kids to be "cuter," without some of the crude humor of A&F. And they are somewhat less pricey.
