And no, I am not trying to work under the influence of anything. So its ridiculous for you to say I should be fired. I'm a nursing student, trying to right a report, on a topic that was ASSIGNED to me. I'm looking for honest answers, not judgement for something you don't even know anything about. Thanks.

A combination or cocktail of all the drugs you've mentioned plus LSD and opium would probably impair her functions somewhat. On the other hand, some nurses have acquired a very high tolerance to all of these.

Sounds like a weird project for a school paper. Are you a nurse who wants to practice under the influence of something?

All would be an extremely bad idea and could get her prosecuted if she makes a mistake. Anti-anxiety drugs may be o.k. if prescribed and used as directed.
But I would say cocaine would be the worst. It would make her hyperactive, give her the illusion of better coordination while actually making it worse, and would cloud her judgment like nothing else.

It's only right for the patients to say that ALL of these drugs is not good to be in your system while caring for anyone. It's put the patients' lives at risk and your job and even your freedom on the line!

I think a nurse trying to work effectively under the influence of Yahoo Answers participation could do better paying more attention to her patients!

you pose quite a question. let me say this, if i went to the hospital and had a nurse using ANY of those listed and she made a medical mistake with me...and i found out about it...i would sue her and the hospital, they would name a wing after me when me and my lawyer were done.

Someone mentioned LSD, and even though it's "old school," I must heartily agree...

Any drug, really. Certainly, meth, crack, and alcohol would be the worst ones.
