Maybe not. But we can't make a judgment over the Internet.

Immediately send a certified letter return receipt requested and also a fax "rescinding the contract or in the alternative, withdrawing your offer to purchase".

If you're lucky, either the signature is in a place where it couldn't possibly constitute consent, or the contract is "subject to acceptance at the home office", or is just an offer to purchase which has not been accepted yet, or just maybe, your jurisdiction has a cooling off period for doorstep sales or for sales of this type.

It does not matter whether you signed on the wrong place. You still signed it, and unfortunately you are legally bound by the contract, unless the contract you signed is repressive, or impractical as to render you incapable of fulfilling your obligations mentioned therein. It is also invalid if you signed it under duress. There are however, several escape clauses on contracts where either party can terminate the contract by giving notice duly specified in it. I suggest you show this contract to a competent lawyer who can advise you on how to get out of it.

If you don't want the service and it hasn't been performed of course you can change your mind. Inform the service person that you are reneging on the contract. Tell them why, don't pay for this service. If you did stop payment, and please stop signing up for services you don't want.
