The United States of America is the greatest country ever, and part of that greatness comes from the political process. I know it may seeem really bad when the republicans and the democrats are arguing over what is best all the time, but it is part of the process. I believe the country will only become stronger by having these arguments. The United States will be around for centuries to come.

I do not believe the United States of America shall collapse within the next 50 years. We shall remain, although our power and prestige shall diminish. This is the sad truth when our nations leaders no longer take a strong stand upon serious issues.

At this rate, Because of wal-mart we probably will be owned by the chinese in 30 -40 years. Our labor force will be in India, Mexico will have a wall so they wont contribute. Actually I think we will get most of this stuff figured out and no it will not collapse in the next 50 years if we are not hit by terrorist.

I still have hope. We will see this November. I'm quite sure the Dems have the votes; if they don't win and the Diebolds are rigged I may have a more cynical view of the future. But if I had to guess, maybe 50 years we won't be a superpower anymore. Some power still but not a super power. It's not doom and gloom on our horizon yet.

If you listen to the terrorists, that collapse is imminent.. then the world economy is scheduled to collapse.. This is what we are actually facing in the world today... yet there are so many seemingly passing this off the radar..Not realizing the seriousness of these Islamists.

no modern successful country has suffered a collapse in the last few hundred years silly question now isn't it ( there have been changes in the political systems but the only collapse has been temporary in times of war ( and that was just the economy ) )

Empires rise and empires fall. But the USA is in no danger of falling just yet. I cannot foresee when it might fall, but 50 years is much too short. And anything beyond that is hard to predict.
The great thing about America is that every four years, we get to throw out the current bums and get new ones. The bad thing about America is that it is very hard to throw the bums out any sooner than that.
