What Is Democracy And What Makes It the Best System of Government In The World?

The world. With thousands of cultures, ethnicities, religions, races.,etc. 193 countries worldwide; entire population 6 billion people and counting,
We have a president who is attempting to bring "democracy" to Iraq and eventually other countries But maybe it wasn't exactly meant to be that way. We remember the Tower of Babel where God struck people with different languages so they could not communicate with each other.( I don't know if this was true & in a way it seems rather a myth,) Leasttwise. who is to say that "democracy" is meant for EVERY one of these six billion people inhabiting this world of ours.(minus "existing democracies")
You say there is nothing better. But how do we know this? We live in a 'democracy;' we are educated and intelligent(some of us anyway) and yet it is a monumental task just keeping our OWN problems under check.
I am suggesting that a democracy" for one group may appear to be a means to "control' for other groups. "

I am suggesting that we speak so many different languages,think in so many different ways, and have for millineums and that a "democracy" for the masses may not be at all possible for many centuries to come, if at all.
If the same things that are happening in Iraq (re violence, killing) were happening here in the USA and we were being told that such violence was necessary to bring about a "democracy" how many of us would accept that a "democracy" was worth it?

As an American, I believe strongly in America's democracy. But I also believe the other cultures, other peoples, either cannot accept democracy or are not ready for it. I also believe that democracy is not something that you can bring to a people. They have to want it, ask for it, fight for it, and die for it. Democracy cannot be given, it must be taken. So all the US efforts to spread democracy are doomed to failure, as we have seen over and over. When the people of a country want democracy, they will rise up and take it. Until then, no power on Earth can give it to them.

We have a representative form of democracy, in which we elect leaders to represent us in the decision making. Socrates, in Plato's Republic, finds the democracy "the best of the worst forms of government." This government does have a huge instability, man is inherently greedy, and without any force requiring him to do good for others, all of his decisions will be based on whats best for him. yet this is way better than having one or a few personally motivated people forcing their rule on all

No one in this world EVER has seen a true democracy the way it was really intended. The athenian model of democracy is really what the true meaning of "rule of the people" but we will never know what that is.

And marx says that democracy is the last step before pure communism.

what ever people are n able to say, do, what ever kind of freedom they have is 'cause of democracy
it abels us to have a importance in the world and makes us feel an educated and responsible recident of any country . It gives us an identity and this is the use of democracy and so its the best form of government!
