To tell you the truth, it is total opposite to me. My sister and i are 7 years apart. So before i was a teenager we hated eachother and at times we were nice and good to eachother. But when i got to be like 14 or 15 things changed between us and we became closer. So i couldnt really tell you why. Do you want to be closer? Let her know!

My sister - who is my ONLY sibling - and I have never been close. I thought that when we had children who are very close in age it would bring us together but it was a sad delusion. The only cousins my kids have hardly know them. It's sad. Truth is we are just so different. If we were to meet on the street as strangers I don't think we would become friends. That may sound cold but it's just the truth. I think if the firm foundation for a friendship in a sibling relationship is not developed when you are young children together it is naturally not going to develop once you are older and living in separate homes with separate lives. I count on my friends to fill in the "sister" position for me.

If you think you and your sister and getting distant why don't you try doing something fun together. Instead letting you guys get farther apart why don't you put your part in and start doing things together and talk to her about anything. Little things maybe. Let her know how much you love her and let her know how your feeling. She might even just say it's you and laugh. Tell her your serious and that you want to be close just like when you and her were younger.

People change as they get older. Personalities develop differently over time.
My older sister and I use to fight all the time. Now we can get along for brief periods of time. Hopefully someday, we can stop fighting all together.

Your getting older and more mature, but you fail to respect one anothers right to think, feel and be different! Your still involved with your wrong and I am right! Your two different individuals and there by, what may be correct for you may not be good for her, and the same in reverse! You must respect one another enough to allow one another to live your own lives, no matter if you feel if it's right or wrong!

The older we get, the more set-in-our-ways we become... it's like this>>>
A little tree is flexible (capable of change, adapting, accepting), but the older the tree gets, the less flexible it becomes... & you just can't expect it to bend like it used to.

Maybe you are to much alike, and alittle jealous of each other... the older my sisters get the more we love each other.
