Most are dead before winter, there are a few species that hibernate. It is the eggs that survive the winter, to ensure each species will be represented in summer.

They either hibernate or die...depends on which ones. A lot of insects lay eggs and then die...in the spring, the eggs hatch and you see a whole new generation of insects. Some hibernate underground, in trees, or wherever...ladybugs are a good example...they usually try and get into people's houses in the fall to find a place to hibernate.

It depends, some find a spot to hibernate. Some, like butterflies, migrate. Others spend the winter as eggs or in some other part of their life cycle.

depends on the bug take a mosquito they lay dormant in water as larvae till tempurature is right before they transform to a mosquito a fly i got some trapped in my window right now at night the temp is bout 40 f and they are like a bee they go dormant, during the day when it warms up they come to life, eggs and larvae also go dormant till temps are right again. and spider make a cacoon just depends on the bug they all got their own way of dealing with the cold

They only have a life span of a few months,they lay their eggs for next year and then die.
