Cardinals will win because of experience. Detroit's a young team and the pitchers will make mistakes when they pitch to Rolen and Puljos. You will see them hitting homers for sure. And when Detroit goes to the Bullpen, Cardinals will take advantage of zumayas and rodneys fastballs and hit them out of the park. I see Puljos or maybe even Rolen getting the MVP. The Vet's will come up and take this series.

As I answer your question, they just tied up the series 1-1. The advantage to the week off is that they are rested. The disadvantage is they have gotten rusty, as seen in game 1. The Cardinals are fighters, as they showed throughout the NL playoffs. They will not give the Tigers an inch, and this looks to be one hell of a series. The Tigers, by far, have a better team on paper, but that is not where the game is one. This looks to be one hell of a series!

Well they didn't and having a week off in baseball is bad because of the hand eye coordination and timing required skill level wise to hit a baseball and catch it at those speeds at that level. Plus, sitting around in cold weather Detroit reading your press clippings for a week about winning 7 straight vs the mighty Yankees and then sweeping the A's probably give them mentally a little bit of over confidence when you consider the AL dominance the last few years in interleague play, the All Star Game and more recently sweeping the last two World Series including the Cards by the Red Sox in 2004 already!!! I still play ball at my age and not playing 2 days a week and having a 7-14 day layoff between games your timing is just not there at my level... either...

Honestly, I think they're evenly matched as far as hitting.
But the Tigers' pitching is better and anyone that watched them spank my sweet Yankees in the 1st round knows that great pitching beats great hitting every time.
So my guess is the Tigers will win in 5 or 6 and that the series
will go at least 5 but probably all 7 games. it's gonna be a dogfight!
I think Pujols and Rolen is a fair comparison, but Pujols and Polanco is not.
Placido's great even without rest. So is Maggs. Doesn't that guy ever get nervous???? Jeez!!!
The WS MVP will probably be Maggs, Polanco or a pitcher that does a stellar job; Rogers maybe? Not sure. There are so many awesome Tigers to choose from!
On the off chance that the Cards win the WS, I would expect Pujols to get MVP.
Just my opinion. : )

The Detroit Tigers may have a lot of advantages in the series but there is one that they lack...winning the first game. I cheat, as the game is St. Louis 7 Detroit 2 with one on and two out in the bottom of the ninth.

I believe they do. For the simple fact that the last 6 teams that had 5 days off or more before he World Series have gone on to win it all. Tigers World Series winners with Pudge or possible a pitcher being MVP.
GO TIGERS!!!

You gotta love D-Rod for trying to come up with something good to say about the Cardinals. The thing i love most is he talks about experience. Experience is Over-rated just like it is in all sports. As long as you go out and do what your suppose to, nothing can bother you. You talk about Zumaya and Rodney and how the Cardinals will tee off on them. Thats the funniest thing i have ever heard. Last time i checked, not even the best lineup ever assembled could hit that 103 mph fastball and they knew it was coming. He has one of the sickest change-ups in the game and usually its about 80 mph. Thats a 23 mph difference and that pitch makes his fastball that much more difficult to hit. He is UNHITTABLE. As far as Rodney goes, he has a change-up that goes with his fastball also and he has one of the filthiest sliders in the game. He throws about 98 mph fastballs and about an 85 mph change-up which is going to keep those sorry Cardinals off-balance. Tigers in 5 and Placido Polanco for MVP of the WS.

initially i presumed the Tigers might want to win, yet so a concepts as i'm typing this, the Tigers are not playing like they were in the postseason. The Cardinals' pitching has truly better in the playoffs. in basic terms question me, my Mets lost to them! So i visit't believe i'm doing this, yet i'm picking the playing cards in 6.

no. it is probably the only edge they Dont have....rested is an understatement...
stale..no wrong word.
rusty?...yeah. that'll do. they're rusty. otherwise, they have fewer injuries /(edge tigers)
their bullpen IS rested (edge tigers)
they've been off for what a week? the cardinals are still in competing mode (edge cardinals)
starting pitching (draw/even)-cardinals hit fireballers better than junk ballers (ask randy johnson)
defense (draw/ leaning tigers due again to injuries)
coaching (TIGERS about 7/3)
hitting....(tigers, unless pujols starts hitting like pujols-rolen is coming around, and the cardinals DID beat newyork with little or no contribution from either of them)
