Well it's been a year for X-box 360 and it's price hasn't really dropped, and I don't expect it will be much different for the PS3. I'm guessing a year to two years at best. Maybe more.

Whenever a new one comes out. You could go a pawnshop and buy one for a whole cheaper price.

I would guess by next Christmas after they realize that the price is too high this year. Supply and demand. They'll have too much supply and not enough demand.

depends on sales.. but definitely not in its 1st year or even 2nd.... they realize people will come up with the money somehow.. and obviously it will be worth it.. so I will pay....
