this is my ggggrandfather and uncle, just interested to find out more. have been told it is in history books. cant find. happened around the civil war by raiders.

I'm guessing they were killed by either William Clarke Quantrill or John Hunt Morgan. You can try googleing or getting books on these two and trying to find a list of their victims. Good luck.

Where did this happen? Have you looked in the newspapers from that area and time? The best place to start would be the local historians, or universities where it happened. If your family was well off at the time, your ancestors might have inscribed information about the incident on the tombstones (or hopefully the exact date they died). Good luck finding your family's history.
