What a bunch of B.S. answers! Listen, men get screwed in divorces because this country has a double standard when it comes to men and women. In our society men are simply regarded as financial "institutions" for women even though women are supposed to be independent and equal. In a divorce the woman is automatically awarded custody of children unless there are extreme circumstances which render her unfit, in which case the man gets custody. The man is required to provide alimony and child support until the woman gets married again, which could be never and the kid (s) turn 18. The system simply favors the woman and men just have to deal with it the best we can.

Because usually they don't get everything. They usually have the kids and need the house, and yu don't. Usually the house and mortage are all they get. If you fight it in most cases yu aill split the value of everythihg you an dyour wife brought together. However if she has the kids she should have th ehouse and very seldom is the child support anywher enear enough to raise them and or house them. I know people with 3 kids ***** about 200 a month support payments and wonder why she got the house.
but if you are entitiled to half of the value of property in georgia at least that was accumatelated during your marriage. but not inherited property. also usually t eman does not get agood lawyer. If your lawer is not doing the job get another one,a and women lawyers are bette rin divorce cases.

If u think that is bad, try being divorced twice from same man---He divorced her first. But came by once a week to "visit" kids sleep with x wife. He is the one who goes after the kids as soon as the woman gets a boyfriend after 2nd divorce of which he just suggested when she divorced him. Knowing she does not want to marry just have a relationship--and he accuses b/f of child molesting his kids--- Oh BOY dhs- state police -all involved and this man did not lift a finger to offer to take the kids for a visit to his house---not one time! So Here I am for the 3 rd time in a marriage i do not want!!! I will not lose my kids no matter what!
Women get screwed in divorces too. even if it is the x watching the house with binoculars after the fact. I never had help during marriage, during divorce nor after about the kids, he just never took a role model. I have been threatened, choked and "possibly poisoned".
When I had enough and started fighting back--yeah u have too, I scared the crap out of him--cause the first thing I did---not being mean or anything---I needed baby clothes out of the bedroom but he had locked the door----I took a butcher knife and cut my way in to get clothes. No I would not hurt anyone, but I realized later, I could have been bought and paid for and dead because of the act and all I needed was my babies clothes and diapers for the night of which were in my bedroom.
I do not care about his "things", I just want to be left alone----I do not care about my "things" either.
If it were not for my baby, a bright 8 year old son, I think I would just leave and disappear, been with this man since i was 16!
I know one thing------if ever out of this relationship---Never never another!!!! It is too complicated and I like alone.

Well I don't know the reason why you and your ex wife got in a divorce, but if maybe you guys have kids and they need a better home than just being stuck somewhere else where they won't even feel comfortable. Maybe she has a good job and knows how to take care of herself and doesn't need anyone ruining her life right now or maybe you just need to get over your divorce and start looking for a better job instead of just wasting your time wondering why your ex wife has a better life than you. Start doing something for yourself and forget about her.

maybe you could rephrase that a little bit. When my marriage brokeup I left him with the house and just about all the assets. I got 2 of the 3 kids,a bed, a dining table w chairs, my clothes and a few pots and pans after 17 years of marriage. Oh and incidentally I also asked for no child support although I really really could have used it. So please don't say that men always get screwed. Oh and I didn't even have a vehicle to drive he got to keep the 2 cause I didn't want to be greedy and I thought he'll always be there for his kids...wrong... the one that stayed with him got everything including the nice vacations whereas the two with me got told if you would have been living with me you could have gone.

This may not pertain to you. Generally men that think they got screwed more than likely have done something to deserve what the judge decided. My personal experience is that if you are one of the decent men then chalk it up as experience, rub of the STUPID per say on your forehead and go forward. Never ever marry again. Live with someone enjoy the companionship and make sure you make it clear that yours is yours and hers is hers. If by chance you feel you have found the "right one" again...always watch out for you and make sure that you have a prenuptial. LL.

They don't always, here are 2 cases I know of where the MAN screwed the woman......My paternal grandparents divorced in 1940 and my Grandfather got custody, FULL custody of their 9 kids. (Only met my paternal grandmother once and that was enough! What a Witch!!!!!) Case 2, actor Parker Stevenson gave up his career when he married Kirsty Alley, when they divorced 14 years later they had 3 kids Parker had raised while Kirsty worked, he took her to the cleaners AND got full custody of their kids.
I'm sorry things went so sour for you, it isn't fair, men have as many rights as women do in marriage, divorce and concerning their kids, I wish more states would recognize this. MEN MATTER TOO! Good Luck and God Bless.

The honest truth is the Judge always sides with the wife. Because you are supposed to be the bread winner, n she is supposed to be good with the house n kids. N that is about the only reason why.

My condolences. Really. That really sucks and it's not fair. What state do you live in? I thought it was supposed to be a 50/50 split. Maybe there's kids involved and your ex is raising them? The courts tend to side with the offspring.
