Western Union. Go to a participating Bank that does Western Union money transfers. You can also purchase a Visa Debit to send to the UK for that amount.

Paypal or Traveller's Cheques would be the cheapest options. Western Union has high fees. Get traveller's cheques at the bank and send like cash.

All good ideas....
You might ask your bank if they will do an electronic transfer for you, if you can provide data on your payee's bank and account #.
