Casablanca: so sad they couldn't stay together.
i got a tear when Humphrey Bogart said to Ingrid Bergman
"We'll always have Paris" What a great line.
This movie in my opinion was the greatest film of any genre.

"When girl meets crackhead"
ahh, what a story. a young churchgoing girl falls for the biggest crackhead in her small town high school. They go everywhere together as she throws her morals and values down the toilet that her mother and father and parish have tried so hard to enstow in her. She ends up getting pregnant by him. He then leaves her because she's too fat now. She then works at the local pizza joint for minimum wage the rest of her life to support her child and her crack addiction. Ahh, true love.

Hmm... I have a three way tie between Farewell My Concubine, Aida, and Rent.
Farewell My Concubine's just heartbreaking to watch/read. Aida's bittersweet. And Rent's about love between friends and lovers.
