Simply put a bit of bleach in the cup (about a 1/4 inch) and fill with warm water. Let sit for a half hour or so and then wash as usual. Rinse well to remove all traces of bleach. I've been doing this for years for coffee and tea stains.

Baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) This is healthier than bleach but doesn't work as fast, if you use bleach, rinse with a solution of baking soda and water. DO NOT ever rinse bleach with vinegar. If the two mix they produce a hazardous gas that can be fatal. Easy method - 1 teaspoon of baking soda fill cup with warm water and let set overnight. Fast method - put a bit of baking soda on a damp cloth (or wet the stain and sprinkle on it) and rub, it will come right off. Also denture tablets.
