i think you should do whatever you want. who cares what everybody else says. try anything that comes to your mind and write it down. i sang in two bands called the man eating ponies and another called caution tape i played keyboard and back up vocals. and we rocked! so the name shouldn't matter.

Both Hopeland and Lifestreet sound like a christian teen magazine, or a board game for 3 year olds. Silver Rain sounds ok, although I'm sure you'll find quite a few with that band name. The truth is, no matter what you pick there will be someone out there with the same name or very similar. And what's in a name anyways? There are a ton of bands out there with totally stupid or seemingly meaningless names. Limp Bizkit comes to mind. I have always gone with either something important in my life (like how my outlook was at the time of the band) or after something about the band specifically (3 cents short, because there was 3 band members and instead of everyone putting their two cents in, we ended up 3 cents short). In the end most band names sound dumb until you start using them regularly, and then they just become second nature. The name means nothing until there is music to go with it. One suggestion a friend gave me "Free Beer", it will get quite a draw to the club when they put that on the marqee :P

I think Hopeland is ok but you can see the resembence to Copeland. Lifestreet sounds too much like a ministy. I like Silver Rain, and as for it being like Purple Rain, isn't Purple Rain a lot like Black Rain?
Silver Rain conjures up a mental image. Mystical, Ethereal, Dynamic.
Coming up with a name is easy, comming up with a good name is the hard part. How about Sonic Whisper?
Still think Silver Rain sounds good.

It's a tough decision & you definitely want to get it right as you are totally going to have to live with it once you commit your music to a CD/ Band promotion stuff & people will always ask you how you got your name.
Think about what your music means to you, brainstorm, write down every single word/thought that you associate with your music or yourselves & then check a Thesaurus or see what the Latin equivalent is or what it is in any other languages.
I just moved to the USA & hearing stuff for the first time from bands such as Buck Cherry, Black Stone Cherry, Stone Sour - totally different bands but I'm like, come on, there are so many words out there - be different, really different - don't go safe & boring, try & come up with something really unusual & smart !!!
Good luck !!!

lol. If you are a songwriter you should be able to come up with someething original.
Lifstreet sounds like a boyband, and i don't like silver rain, it's not creative enough. guess that leaves hopeland, i think it's ok.
Good luck

you can base your band's name on absolutely everything: childhood favorites, places you like to go, girl you like, the names of your members, high school terms, friends' terms, musical terms... etc.. just be creative enough to make the names very plaesant to hear.
