if I put in Platinum Spark Plugs instead of the 10 year old stock spark plugs (It's a 190 Hp 3.2L V6 gas engine)

there is nothing wrong with adding platinum plugs to an origional non platinum plug car platinum is a better conductor of electricity than the standard copper in the old plugs however if u have let ur plugs go ten years why r u worried now lack of maintenance means u probably have other problems that are more pressing than old plugs but a standard tune up plugs and wires cap and rotor if equipped will help the burn give u better gas mileage as ur coil will not have to work as hard to create the spark. the airplane guy is a moron and should stick to planes in a gas engine two plugs are good but u dont stagger timing timing must be exact or back fire pre-ignition or detonation can occur i build top fuel engines that run two plugs percylinder and my land engines are no joke with 50k+ invested in parts and machine work in each one so dont listen to him as fas as a horsepower gain is concerned yeah the motor will gain alittle low end power from the new plugs but nothing u will notice if the plugs are ten years old i would do a regular 30k service too change air filter fuel filter and any fluids that havent been changed like brake coolant tranny power steering. hope this helps

To add better spark to you engine will increase you gas milage a little (1-4 mpg maybe) but also you need plug wires to insure this, although this will not give you any more horse power. Adding a hotter plug type could I repeat could add HP but not much and only until you engine blows up (which will happen).
Your engine works on many different levels in order to function as a whole, and everyone part needs its partner in order to effective.
This plug will not give you more HP.

assuming your 10 year old plugs are in good shape and properly gapped you would be unlikely to see any increase in HP from a street engine as horse power can only be increased by increaseing the amount of fuel and air burned per cycle, or increasing the length of the stroke of the piston, the diameter of the piston or the number of rotations of the crankshaft per minute. the only way to realize an advantage using spark plugs is to put in two per cylinder and stagger the degrees of timing at which they fire as is done on reciprocating aircraft engines. so that after the first one fires and starts the fuel combustion the second one will fire to assist in completing the burn as the piston starts to travel down. this is called flame propagation.

Are you sure it doesn't have platinums in it? That's a lot of years on regular plugs.

You won't gain any HP, but you might see a minute gain in mpg.
