The best mobile carrier for you is a combination of many things. All carriers have good points and bad points. You have to find the one that fits your lifestyle the best. There is no one-size-fits-all carrier. There are so many things to keep in mind:

Business use: most cellular and wireless companies will only extend business credit when they have been in business a long time and have excellent corporate credit. You may want to check for deposit amounts for the business, and depending on how many lines your business needs, it may be cheaper to go consumer in the short and long term. Your dad may have better credit than his business for example and he may be able to get a few lines under his own name for cheaper than using the tax ID of his business. Also, many consumer rate plans are cheaper than business plans. So he might want to look into that.

Coverage is a big issue and something to think about. No sense in having a phone if it doesn't work. Where do you travel and how often? Know the general areas where you go and look for coverage there. Don't trust maps. Ask friends and family.

If you are not looking at a roaming included rate plan, you need to know how much it is going to cost you to make a roaming call. If this is going to apply to you, you need to know the true costs involved and realize it may take up to three months to be billed for roaming charges.

Smaller maps make cheaper rate plans, but if you off your map for any reason, even if you are not in roaming mode, you can also be slapped with a traveling charge. This averages around 30 cents a minute.

Do they offer the add-ons you're looking for? For example some companies do not offer unlimited texting at any price.

Price should be on the list, but it shouldn't be your first concern. Everyone wants everything cheap, but to be honest, you will be happier paying $5 more a month if your phone service works the way you need it to.

There are a lot of things to consider. Ask your friends and family who they use. By using one of their carriers you might be able to buy less minutes every month and still get to talk alot to those who matter the most.

The bottom line is you want to find a carrier that fits you. Not the other way around.

A family plan will be perfect but you need to be careful with all these deals going on. i have been a victim more than once and it's not fun to your wallet. Also remember that it also depends on how efficient the service providers are. In some areas t-mobile may not do as well, while in others it might. So do some research and find out which has the strongest signals then get a family plan.

Call customer service and they will ask you for the numbers that are behind the battery SD# I think it what they are call and they will have the check to make sure the phone is valid like if the person you bought it from doesn't have a past due balance or something like that and they will switch your service from one phone to the other. Really simple and doesn't take long at all. I did that myself and have Sprint service. Pretty simple and painless, you can also do this online by logging into sprint and chatting with someone at customer care online.

t-mobile is the best for me. i get good reception and allot of minuets but it depends on where you live and what you need it for. i just got the family plan not realizing how much i talk to my wife so i did not need to get the 2000 min that i got.
there is a few spots in the valley here that i get crappy service so that means i drop a call 1-2 times a month always at the same spots. i would hate it if i lived in one of those spots.

my broker has Verizon which is considered great. but he has no service in his house so it sucks for him.

what i would recommend is try a prepay version of the service, you think fits your needs. then xfer the number in a month, when you know you can stand the 2 year contract, they will try to get you for.

Verizon has the best overall coverage. T-Mobel has the lowest price.
