I know what stipper clothes are and last year down our street, girls under the age of 18 wore underwear down the street with stripper/dancer shoes.

Heyn ya Cartman I am 50m years old and wonder the same thing... Sad reflection on all of us. I thought Hallowenn was about Vampires, witches, and whatevever creature you chose to be. My nephew is going to be a killer clown and I am going to be a witch. I hope you have a great time as a scary being. I wonder what ever happened to skeletons, devils and ghosts

As an adult, have you ever been to a Adult Halloween party? And if so, are you the kind of person who would not fit into one of these outfits? I'm just asking because you seem rather irritated over the entire concept. I'm a mother of five. Each year we do the traditional trick or treating with our children and I can count endless costumes that my children wore, that were not "scarey". My youngest son was a dinosaur last Halloween, and for the longest time, my second youngest was terrified of scarey costumes. Halloween is about dressing up and acting silly. It's not all about scaring the living daylights out of little ones. In this day and age, there are also alot more activities planned for adults. I don't know about you, but each year my husband and I attend about three halloween parties amongst friends. In doing so, I've learned that big bulky costumes are uncomfortable, make-up itches tremendously, and anything that has fuz, hair, or long draping material is highly flamable. The smaller, cuter outfits work for me and many of my friends. If you get the right size, they are not sleazy. And if this disturbs you, then maybe you shouldn't be searching for these types of outfits with a 13 yr old! It's just unreal and baffles the heck out of me on how some parents can pick the oddest things to complain about. We have children shooting other children in schools, wars all around us and you are raising a stink about costumes? Do us a favor....stay home if you can't get into the spirit.

As a grown adult or teenager there is not much that scares you. I remember going to a hayride in gradeschool and a bigger one in high school. Two completely experiences. As a child Halloween is supposed to be scary and for trick or treating. As a adult, Halloween is to hand out candy. Many adults also have costume parties and what is more appealing than sex outfits. America buys into the stuff and that is why it is produced. As for a stripper costume under teens I have no idea where society has gone. That is completely wrong. In my opinion they should put all the adult costumes in a enclosed area that is 18+.

HALLOWEEN ins what you make it. It can be fun for every age with a variety of interests. The more provocative costumes are marketed because sex sells. Did you ever notice how much skin is in a lotion commercial? Did you see the scantily clad girl with big boobs in the beer commercial? What about those adds for Viagra, propecia, Pfiezer? The comment at the end of medicine commercials "May cause sexual side affects". Sex was the first form of physical pleasure and entertainment. Our species has evolved but the requirement for sex has not changed. We just display it differently.

Halloween isn't SUPPOSED to be anything except a celebration of the Atumnal Equinox and the harvest for the year. It's just that Christanity attempted to take it over and "christianize" a pagan celebration in an attempt to convert the pagans to Christanity. Halloween wasn't meant to be an event that had children going door to door begging for sweets.

Well halloween isn't just for the kids anymore. In fact more company's have halloweeen parties. If you are finding the sleazy outfits in the teen isle is because of the eightTEEN and nineTEEN years olds. I know legally they should be in the adult section but hey you can't please everyone. If your daughter isn't planning on being something sleazy then I wouldn't worry aboout it. Halloween is overrated anyways. If you want to get technical Halloween wasn't meant for kids/addults to dress up and get candy and/or have parties anyways. It is actually a celebration of the dead and a pagan "holiday."

Your premise is wrong.

Halloween was never just for the wee ones. And Samhain always had a bit of sex attached to it.
and
Halloween has morphed a bit .. so it has become a time of dress up for all ages. One of the few costume parties left in our culture.

I can see how finding a stripper costume for a teen would be disconcerting.

Halloween has been commercialised. So if dressing up is the main thing, I wouldn't be surprised to see sex role outfits

You have to teach you child to go a different direction. If we cant change something then get educated about it so you can explain to her why shouldn't wear a costume like what you found on the net
