I had an ingrown toenail that was very painful. Believe it or not, I found a cure. I had my girlfriend glue a tiny brace to the nail that kept a constant negative (upwards) force to the nail. That brought instant relief from pain and by the time the nail had grown out and I cut off the braced nail part, my nail had been trained to grow correctly. I bought a couple of extra kits just to be safe, but I haven't had to use them at all.

Cut your nails straight across. If your toenail naturally curves in, then cut a 'V' in the middles of the nail. This takes the pressure off. If ingrowth happens a lot, then you may want to see a podiatrist to remove part of the nail. Also - don't wear shoes that are too tight. ( I do foot care for the elderly & disabled).

Keep cutting your toenails in form of ^ ( inverted V shape ) for a month time . If u do this then after a month the toenails will start growing straight.

Ingrown nails can be avoided by cutting nails straight across; nails should not be cut along a curve, nor should they be cut too short. Footwear which is too small, either in size or width, or those with too shallow a 'toe box' will exacerbate any underlying problem with a toenail.

Don't cut the corners of the nail too short.. they should come out at least to the end of the toe.

Don't wear tight shoes and cut your toenals straight across instead of curved as most people do.

well when you trim your nails becareful on trimming them down because going to far down can do it to them. Also if you trim them off on an angle it may do it that way.
