to live thinking that everytime someone ask or says something about someone of another race that is its percieved racially motivated hatred? and then they wonder why race relations are in a degraded state instead of advancing to one of understanding?

It's way depressing, but it's not just about race relations; it's about human relations. Too many people are prepared to think the worst of one another. How can we -- as individuals, let alone a civilization -- expect to advance when we're our own worst enemy?

Yep, depressing is the word for it.

i wish everyone would just look beyond the colour to the person inside- why does the exterior matter so much? your're right, People should move on and try and be more understanding about living together. I think people just use race as an excuse to say hey ' i'm better than you because i'm white' because there is nothing much that seperates humans from each other besides the colour of their skin.

Race determines what economic suituation you live in
what jobs you will get
what privalages you have and so forth.

if race didn't exist there would be no barriers- because culture is a mental thought. It's not an inherent genetic thing. So if someone was black, it doesn't mean they're poor and stupid- that's where sterotyping also comes in.

i can go on and on about this topic all i will say is: do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

I like all of the questions on race because they actually hardly get truly mean answers and I think they create an open dialogue. I really appreciate those questions.
I hope people ask more questions of other races instead of those postings that are from a white person saying "whites only please" and vice-versa.

Well, if you read the question it usually has derogatory term in it and the person asking usually states their opinion, which very often, is narrow-minded and not based on fact.

if that's the perception you're getting, perhaps you should reconsider the questions you're asking. what is "race" anyway, but a socially constructed reality? we really are all just one race..the human race.

Stop your whining. In your mind I suspect that positive race relations is you being able to insult someone with your flat-headed questions.

He's so depressed that he didn't get to insult someone...awwww...
