My friends down becuase his Brother wont do plastic surgery on him .I do try to cheer him up but its to no avail. little background his brother is a plastic surgeon that gets to do 1 free operation a year . He has given his mom a tummy tuck and his step sister breast augmentation .
My friend has a condition that predisposes him to gaining weight on the middel.yet his brother wont operate on him . He has repeatley done what his brother suggested such as running or trying to eat high protein diets. Since he doesnt make much money eating a high protein diet is expensive .My friend does work out 3 time a week .
Should my friend accept it and move on ?
I can tell this eats him up inside .
Would there be a better way for my friend to approach his brother on this ?

Given that the doctor and the patient are related, I think its only fair to say that he doesn't want to responsibilty or the burden of having anything unbecoming to happen to his brother. Perhaps it might be better for your friend to ask why? And if he still can't accept the explanation as to why his brother doesn't want to operate on him, then he should move on?
There are tons of plastic surgeons out there.

I don't think his brother can operate on him. Something to do with Doctors ethics. Maybe it will cheer him up a little knowing that his brother doesn't have a choice in the matter. I don't think any doctor is allowed to operate on a relative. I don't think there is a way to approach his brother and get a different answer, but maybe his brother can refer him to another dr who can do the surgery
