Good questions since a lot of moms that are nursing don't have a period. Usually if you aren't having a period while breast feeding you won't get pregnant, it works kind of like birth control. However its not that reliable, you have to nurse on time every time etc and if you dont you can ovulate and then have a period. So this is what my doctor said. Every 15 days if you are having unprotected sex take a pregnancy test! LOL the expense alone gets most women to use birth control.

hi i got pregnant while nursing my first dd when she was only 6 weeks old and no i didnt have a first period it is certainly possible for me i just had a lot of cramping like af was on her way when in actuall fact i was pregnant also got very tired if you need anymore advice dont hesitate to contact me i can tell you what i no.i currently have a 15 month old and a 4 month old.

I got preg. when my first daughter was only 8 wks old and I was exclusively breastfeeding with no period. The way that I found out I was preg. was because all of sudden she didn't want to eat. She would eat for a few seconds and scream and I heard that they did this if you were preg. so I took a test and sure enough I was.
