he is probably trying to project the image that he is a good husband and father, which likely means he is neither

I don't think they are on there that much. What, once every six weeks I guess. Why he puts his wife on there probably has to do with fans that want to hear what she has to say. That I can understand. But you're right about his son. Being on for a book he's written is one thing, but to be "host for a day" is kind of pushing it. I guess he just wants his kid to do well.
Well I watch the show enjoy it mostly, and there are my opinions.

Well apparently his son is some kind of qualified therpist himself now isn't he.. so much so he can write books about it.. hmmm

And his wife.. I don't know about that - I think that is kind of annoying but I guess they like it

I think the Dr Phil house is lame.. :o) so is the word lame but I really think it is and that is just the perfect word..

Notice how every other talk show has their own Dr. Phil now? Tyra used some therapist for a few shows I think and they gave him his own nightmare of a show - Keith Ablow I think it is - can I get my own show for giving advice on here? Cause I swear mine would be better.. :o) ( I think)

I think it does at least two things for him: I think it attempts to show that what he is saying really did work for him. I think it also is his way of keeping himself grounded and focused on his family which is more important than the show

He wants to promote his family as the perfect family. He also doesn't have to give them any money, They get their own from the show.

It is a family show as much as a talk/help show and they get lots of money.

His wife just put out a book...soo I guess he is trying to get her out there. And his son is looking for a chance to get his 15mins of fame.

It's a family affair. They all like each other, and they can demonstrate what a functional, healthy family behaves like to those of us who may not have ever seen one.
