When I hear the name Roxy, I think about the character Roxy Hart in Chicago (the movie) ... When I hear Roxanne, I think about Eddie Murphy in 48 Hours singing "Roxanne" by Sting and the Police.

My aunt's friend's daughter's name is Roxanne.. it sounds rugged like she belongs in the Amazon rivers.
However, if you were to say Rosanne, that's a slightly better and sweeter name, despite the fat Asian girl with her own show during the 80s and 90s.
