If you have a 2.6 G processor with 512 Mg ram on a Window xp machine, chances are, your problems aren't because, of not enough memory!

If the problem with your games running slow means the video is choppy it might mean you need more Video ram or it could mean you need to upgrade the Video driver. Of course, if you visit the Windows Upgrade site it could tell and allow you to download any upgrade.

The amount Video Ram or the lack of it is the second most important reason why you lose or gain speed when running a game on your computer!

The first is normal ram which you have, plenty of!

You can buy video cards in memory amounts of 64M, 128M, 256M, 512M and with more or less extras. The best thing to do here would be to buy as much Video memory as you can afford.

There is also another reason why your games are running and loading slowly. Especially, if spend any time at all on the Internet. Use a cleaner and defrag your Hard Drive and Register.

Don't think that because your Windows came with Norton Internet Security that it's"hands off". Norton or any firewall programs will help but cant keep your computer running at it's most efficient.

Good luck!

Increasing the RAM memory will not do any good. You will not see any difference in the game. You need a high speed grahpics card. When you buy graphics card they have graphic memory built into them like 128MB or 256MB but you need not worry about that either, they have speeds as well like 4x or 8x. The 4x 256MB will lbe cheaper than 8x 128mb. Look for NVIDIA or ATI Radian
