A vunerability discovered 6 months ago in IE6 has not yet been patched even with IE7

That is not a problem with IE 7. It is a problem with Outlook Express. In order to get the infection you have to go to a web site, click on a link and then must agree to download the infection.

The reason Microsoft doesn't provide a patch is the difficulty in getting the infection. You must go to one of three web sites, that contain it, then click on a link (one of many at each site), then approve a download to be made. Only an Idiot would accept this download. Microsoft has received no reports of anyone being infected by this malware through Outlook Express.

Take what you read from Secunia with a grain of salt. Secunia is anti-microsoft and makes vague claims of security weaknesses that usually prove to be misinformed, and in most cases, completely bogus.
