Assume the bird has the bird flu. Most birds in the US do not. Assuming it does, the flu germ would have to mutate to be contagious to humans. The chance of infection is very small.

Birds don't sneeze...
you don't get bird flu the same way you get the flu from people.
you get bird flu by eating infected poultry but it's ok because it's only in Asia right now... i think
