Were racecar designers inspired by nature?

Or does nature dictate that the best designs seem to always look a particular way - for their particular purposes - whether we are aware of the 'coincidence' or not?

I think engineering and physics determines the requirements here.

A shark is designed for efficiency and speed hydrodynamically (to cleanly and efficiently move through water). Formula 1 cars are designed to move swifty and efficiently through air (aerodynamically). Of course the two are very similar, the same way a submarine resembles and aircraft fuselage.

The search for engineering efficiency results in a similar look whether performed by evolution or by race car builders. Your own mind is probably very good at matching visual analogies.

The f1 cars desidgn is an aerodynamst job, so Mother Nature must be a very good aerodynamst!

It's all to do with aero dynamics. P.s Did you know it is possible for an F1 car to drive along the roof of a tunnel

mostly everything in the way formula 1 cars work are for aerodynamics and it's just because both are made to glide... sharks through water and cars through air
